The following chart shows a comparison of heating costs for a standard-type family home (with a heat loss of 11 kW) using different types of heating systems. Costs include the total energy bill (source fuel + electricity), because a heat pump generates additional savings in the form of lower electricity rates ( D56 rates – lower rates 22 hours a day).
